Into the Woods

‘Witches can be right, giants can be good.
You decide what's right, you decide what's good.’

The Stephen Sondheim beloved modern musical theatre classic comes to life on the Queen Street Playhouse stage! The Narrator introduces the cast of characters, each with a wish: the Baker and Baker’s wife long for a child but cannot conceive, Jack desperately wishes his cow Milky White would once again provide milk so he wouldn’t have to sell her, and Cinderella dreams of attending the king’s ball and someday being free of her cruel stepmother and step-sisters. When all their tales, and the tales of other fairy tale characters, lead to the woods and become intertwined, dreams come true and wishes are granted. Their happiness has consequences, though, and the characters are forced to band together to save their magical world in this lush and beloved musical!

This production stars Footlight Executive Director Brian Porter as The Baker as well as Footlight favorites Jenny Bettke (Little Red), Tyler Inabinette (Rapunzel’s Prince) and Rebecca Weatherby (Rapunzel), and is directed by Clark Haywood (Proof, Misery).

Last of the Red Hot Lovers

WRITTEN BY NEIL SIMON

Meet Barney Cashman, a congenial middle-aged married man living in the age of the sexual revolution. Overworked and overweight, Barney wants to join the excitement before it's too late and arranges three seductions using his mother’s occasionally empty NYC apartment : the first, Elaine proves to be a foul-mouthed bundle of neuroses; then there’s Bobbi, a 20-ish actress who's too kooky by half; and finally Jeanette, a gloomy, depressed housewife who happens to be married to Barney's best friend.

Each of his failed attempts at seduction lead to hilarious results as Barney discovers he may not actually be the Last of the Red Hot Lovers. From the legendary vault of Neil Simon (Plaza Suite, The Odd Couple, Rumors) this hit comedy is a guaranteed laugh-out-loud romantic romp.

Show dates:
March 7, 8, 14, 15, 21 & 22 at 7:30pm // March 9, 16 & 23 at 3:00pm

A WINE FOR ALL SEASONS

WHAT IS IT?
Join Footlight Players on February 28th for a fun and funky new interactive fundraising adventure at the Queen Street Playhouse as we proudly welcome you to the inaugural A WINE FOR ALL SEASONS vino extravaganza. This enhanced wine tasting experience promises to be an exciting evening, where attendees will be the very first to learn about our upcoming 94th MainStage season lineup. The event perfectly pairs six carefully selected wines with each of next year’s engaging shows, creating a delightful combination of flavors and entertainment that you won’t want to miss.

HOW IT WORKS!
Guests will be greeted at the theatre lobby with a chilled glass of sparkling Cava and given a map for the theatre wine trail, guiding them to various 'wine stations.' Each station will offer a curated wine tasting that hints at an upcoming Season 94 production. Characters in costume will be present at each station, providing clues about the featured show (for a fee).

The wine stations will be placed throughout our historic theatre, each offering light snacks. Complete your quiz card with the correct answers for all six shows to enter a drawing for great prizes, followed by a live performance and the announcement of next season's shows.

We will also hold a 'wine pull' event where guests can pay $20 for a chance to draw a wine bottle worth between $10 and $100.

And don't worry if your theatrical knowledge is more like a cheap merlot, you are still guaranteed to have a fabulous, laid back good time with all of us at the Queen Street Playhouse!
